ABOUT THE SUMMIT

What if pleasure and embodied intimacy was the secret key to trauma healing, social transformation and building a more deeply connected world? What if we could learn the art of connecting more deeply with ourselves and others to go beyond the superficial and move into spaces of vulnerability, trust, and authenticity?

Gather with us online for our One-Day Summit to deepen our somatic healing journey around the theme “Pleasure activism and embodied intimacy.”

In this profound 1-day exploration, we investigate the power of mind-body practices to build intimacy, deepen connection, heal relationships, and enhance wellbeing.

Through a series of interactive workshops and discussions with world-leading experts on pleasure activism and embodied intimacy, you’ll embark on a personal and collective journey to hold and experience sensations, emotions, desire … and pleasure, as valuable sources of guidance, connection and social transformation.

We’ll explore how to embrace pleasure and sensuality without judgment, and how to cultivate deep empathy and compassion towards ourselves and others. Participants will be introduced to life-changing somatic practices and skills in the areas of embodied consent, somatic pleasure practices, conscious touch, open-hearted communication, and more.

Join us and reclaim your birthright of the embodied experience of joy, connection and wonder!

We wish to acknowledge that the term Pleasure Activism stems from the work of author adrienne maree brown and we deeply honor her contributions to the field.

When Animals Are Safe, They Play: Exploring the Non-Narrative Bases for Intimacy

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

First, by consciously taking a “safe distance” from others we can enjoy exploring our longing for connection. Once we experience that we are free to move in and out of connection, we can allow the co-creative nature of embodied intimacy to arise between us. Enjoy this playful exploration of the “active defense” of flight and leave knowing what a somatic sense of safety feels like in the presence of another.

Pleasure Can Change The World: Life-Giving Activism

A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

How can we make social change movements joyful, sustainable, and soul-nurturing? How can we use the power of pleasure to infuse activist spaces and community organizing with delight? What shifts when we embody the belief that pleasure is a human right? Join Kai Cheng Thom, certified Somatic Sex Educator, Sexological Bodyworker, and Transfomational Embodiment Coach as we dive into frameworks and practices that integrate activism, collective healing, and embodied joy. Participants can expect to leave with new ideas, as well as two personal somatic practices and two facilitation techniques for engaging with pleasure activism.

Brian Yang

How to Get Out of The Relationship Loop of Doom

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

We'll discuss the stages and cycles that every relationship goes through, how the challenges/pains are really coming from childhood trauma and how to get out of the loop of doom.

Sheleana Aiyana

Creating Conscious Love

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Discover conscious relationship tools to experience deeper intimacy, understanding and connection with yourself and your partner.

Dr. Stella Resnick

The Science of the Art of Breathing: Keys to the Pleasures of Love, Sex, and Healing Trauma

A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Withheld breath withholds pleasure. It’s a sign of trapped energy and trauma. We think of breathing as automatic and spontaneous. But much is gained by focusing attention on the breath, locating where in the body the breath is held, and intentionally exercising our breathing musculature to mindfully expand the tight muscles by drawing in more air during various experiential processes and attending to any imagery or memories that are triggered. This is especially informative during emotional, physical, relational, and sexual pain. This presentation offers evidence connecting trauma, withheld breath, and pleasure-resistance and continues with valuable experiential exercises for releasing the breath and restoring the body’s natural pleasures.
