Exploring The Exhale

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Nahid is the founder of The Human Movement Method and has a loyal following of over-exerted ‘high-performers’ who rely on her profound yet gentle methods to keep them functioning at their best.

In Nahid’s Exploring the Exhale immersion, you’ll be guided through a somatic yoga flow technique that will realign your body, eliminate your anxiety, and defuse any frenetic energy that’s disrupting your life. Together we will explore the exhale to find a deeper connection to movement.

We will cover:

  • The importance of exhaling fully

  • Allowing the inhale to recoil in

  • Taking action on the exhale for effortless effort

Embodied Fascia: Flexibility, Balance & Strength

A 90-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

So often we assume that tightness and pain in our body is caused by muscles or discs. Yet in many cases, it’s our fascia that is calling for attention.

Led by world-renowned movement educator Eric Franklin (founder of the The Franklin Method), this experiential session will transform your understanding of your body and reconnect you to the pleasure of movement.

You will learn how to experience the interconnected web of fascia that surrounds and integrates every structure of our body including muscles organs and bone. Learn about the role of fascia in force transmission, elastic recoil, sensation, hydration and much more, and understand how our fascia can improve our biomechanical efficiency. Participants will experience and embody specific applications of fascial dynamic neuro-cognitive imagery (FDNI) for addressing the thoraco-lumbar fascia for individuals with chronic non-specific low back pain. This workshop is aimed for various movement and bodywork therapists and trainers from a variety of disciplines (e.g. yoga, Pilates, dance, etc.) as well as anyone interested in inter-disciplinary approaches for studying fascial tissue.

In this workshop you will:

  • Experience relief from neck and shoulder tension.

  • Learn exercises that improve spinal mobility and eliminate back pain.

  • Improve your posture and free your breath through fascial embodiment.

  • Experience how fascial imagery can improve your flexibility and balance.

Connection and Co-Regulation: A Yogic Journey of Inner and Outer Relationships

A 90-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Connection is at the core of all human experience. We all share the need to be seen and understood. We long to belong and to experience ourselves within the context of loving, nurturing relationships. When we cultivate body awareness, we develop a capacity to notice moment-by-moment changes in sensory experience. We pay attention to subtle changes in tension, temperature, or level of energy that provide information about how to effectively respond to our own ever-changing needs to create optimum physical, mental, and emotional health.

Through this 90 minute experiential class, you will be invited to explore a guided yoga class emphasizing connection within yourself. We can then explore how self-awareness enhances our relationships to others. Our sense of belonging comes from our core self but extends to our friends, family members, and defines your place as an important part of a global community.
