We’ve all heard the term “holding space” but do we really know what it means or how to do it well?

In this workshop, Heather Plett, author of The Art of Holding Space: A Practice of Love, Liberation, and Leadership, will help us learn more about how this important practice leads us toward greater liberation and love in our relationships with others and ourselves.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Love and liberation in our relationships - isn’t that what we’re all looking for?

When you learn to deepen your practice of holding space for others and yourself, that’s exactly what you’ll find along the way.

Holding space is about learning to walk alongside people in whatever they’re experiencing without trying to fix them, change them, or control the outcome of their choices. When we learn this practice, we free each other (and ourselves) to be fully human, we strengthen our capacity for facing discomfort, and we learn to have clearer boundaries and better guardrails in our relationships.

Some of the questions we’ll address in this workshop are:

  • What are the basic components of holding space?

  • What is liminal space and how do we navigate it?

  • How does holding space support people in having their primary needs met?

  • What’s the opposite of holding space and why do we sometimes go there?

  • When should we say “no” or “I’m at capacity”?

  • How do we hold space for ourselves?

  • What do we need to learn about ourselves in order to hold space well?

Whether you simply want to strengthen your personal relationships, or you’re looking for tools that will help you improve how you support people in your work, there is something in this workshop for you.

Heather has trained hundreds of people around the world in this practice. Again and again they’ve shared how it changed their lives and gave them tools for supporting the people they care about.
